WHY IS SEPTOPLASTY OPERATION?

As a result of the examinations and investigations, it was decided that you need surgical intervention because of the ili curvature of the cartilage and bone compartment in the middle of the nose ”. The curvature of the nasal compartment may be caused by developmental disorders of the facial bones and as a result of nasal bone trauma and fractures that may occur during or after delivery. If the curvature causes the following problems, it must be corrected by surgery:

·         Difficulty breathing through the nose

·         Drying, burning, foreign body sensation due to continuous mouth breathing

·         Snoring, sometimes asleep breathing

·         Headache / face pain,

·         Recurrent sinus inflammation,

·         Throat and bronchial inflammation,

·         Clogging of the eustachian tube that ventilates the middle ear and tendency to middle ear infections.

It may be necessary to correct the curvature of the nasal chamber in certain sinus surgeries and certain types of nosebleeds.

THE POSSIBLE CAUSES OF THE ILLNESS AND HOW TO SEE

·         Genetic factors

·         Birth trauma

·         Adult blows to the nose

WHO AND WHERE TO DO THE PROCEDURE

Surgery is performed by specialist doctors of our hospital.

All operations are performed in the operating room of our hospital under regional or general anesthesia depending on the operation and patient demand. You can talk to the anesthesiologist about the specific risks of general anesthesia (narcosis).

HOW WAY AND HOW THE PROCEDURE WILL BE CARRIED OUT

Surgery is performed through the nose. Following anesthesia, the covering layer (mucosa) on the nasal chamber is cut and separated over the nasal chamber. Remove the curved and excess portions of the cartilage and bone and correct the nasal chamber. If the meat in the nose (turbinates) is too large and makes it difficult to breathe, at the same time the excess part of the nose meat is removed or burned (cauterized) is reduced. At the end of surgery, 2 types of tampon can be put into the nose. In general, these buffers are discharged within 48-72 hours. Nasal splints can be emptied within 1 week to 1 month, depending on the physician's preference. During this period, the patient will have to breathe orally.

ESTIMATION TIME OF THE PROCEDURE: 30 minutes-1 hour

EXPECTED BENEFITS FROM THE TRANSACTION

Functionally improved breathing and odor, improved sound quality, reduced sleep problems, aesthetic appearance
